Great Weather Returns - Plan a safe return to riding |

Great weather returns! Today is a great day to get out and dust off the bike. When you do, please remember to take a few of these suggestions with you: Check the air pressure…they all deflate after long periods of standing. Check the fuel level, and fill up with new fuel Clean the windshield and your helmet shield Check the brakes. Nuff said. Gear up. Put on all the gear…with crappy roads and not having ridden for a while, you may need it more than later in the season. Slap your throttle hand…you are no longer the best road racer in the world that you were last fall. Start with slower speeds, remembering not where the clutch, shifter and throttle are, but how they feel on your bike, today. Practice a few stops on an open street to get the feel of your brakes. It will come back quickly, but please don’t make that first stop a panic one. Think staying vertical on turns. With all the gravel and grit on the roads, especially in turns, take it very easy until you know the road is clear again. Watch where you put your feet when stopping. That loose gravel will getcha. Savor the ride! Its great to have “normal” Colorado weather back again!
