Got tires in the sun? |
Are you storing any vehicle outdoors? One of the problems with outside storage of rubber tired vehicles is that the UV rays from the sun will deteriorate the compound in the tires. Here at 5,000 feet, the UV is five times that of sea level, and deterioration will eat a tire long before the miles on a seldom used vehicle. A common recommendation in the RV business is to replace all tires over six years old regardless of wear. This product has been approved by the USAF, and is approved for use on aircraft, so if you have a prized but seldom used RV, or motorcycle trailer, or (heaven forbid) an older motorbike stored outside, this may help. Just avoid contact with the wearing portion of the tread on motorcycle tires. Here is one source |
