The 100,000 Foot Colorado Pass Ride (All Day)
The BMW Motorcycle Club of Colorado and Foothills BMW proudly present their ninth annual all-day 100,000 Foot Motorcycle ride for 2008, an event that is unattainable anywhere else in the United States and maybe the world. The 100,000 Foot Colorado Pass Ride provides scenic mountain vistas, majestic peaks, wide open meadows, valleys, and beautiful streams for which Colorado has attained its international reputation for world class scenery. The 2008 route begins and ends in Denver and is approximately 450 to 500 miles over ten mountain passes totaling more than 100,000 feet! Shortcuts will again be available to allow more leisurely-paced riders to select a route that reduces mileage and time requirements (and mountain passes) by as much as 40%. The ride in 2008 will again follow a loose rally format, although participants will receive directions for the entire route, including the shortcut options, up front at check-in. Route is not given out in advance. Riders will then depart on their own and may be required to pass through check-points throughout the ride. General timing for the entire route will be based on speeds that do not exceed posted speed limits. Participation includes a commemorative 2008 ride pin, embroidered patch, continental breakfast, catered lunch and dinner, door prizes during or after dinner, and back by popular demand, a commemorative ride tee-shirt! Participants may ride in large or small groups at their own choosing in accordance with their own preference as to speed and riding style. Fuel, food and rest facilities are readily available along the route. All riders and all brands of motorcycles are welcome. Registration fee is $TBD per person and is non-refundable. Due to the popularity of this annual ride, the event now regularly sells out. To provide all our potential ride registrants an opportunity to participate, registration for the 2008 ride will open in February, 2008.
