UnRally VII, John Day, OR (1:00AM - 1:00AM)
Come one; come all to the BMWSportTouring.com 2008 John Day UnRally July 8-11, 2008 (Overview Map). The headquarters will be at the Grant County Fairgrounds, John Day, Oregon
The paved roads are fantastic! The unpaved roads are fantastic!! I’m sure I’ll find some knobbies-only roads that will be equally fantastic!!!
Your entry fee will be precisely determined over the next few months but will not exceed $50. This fee will cover the fun stuff: tee shirts, stickers, a dinner, a breakfast and a small amount for postage, photocopies and other administrative things. Your dedicated UnCommittee is made up from fun-loving, certifiable, unpaid volunteers! All lodging and most meal costs are up to you.
We will be setting up a website and will need all of you to register and prepay so the tee-shirts can be ordered and we can get a good head count for meals.
Who wants to come and play in John Day, Oregon? "What is the UnRally?"
I'll respond that it is the annual worldwide BMWSportTouring.com gathering where we get together, break bread together, ride together and tell lies together.
It was the first group event back in 2002. It might not be the largest gathering anymore and scores of regional events have sprung up along the way...Spring Torrey, Fall Torrey, El Paseo, Blazing Saddles , BB&B, Death Valley Daze, etc. But it was the first and gets people together who have only previously conversed in this electronic forum.
It's a way to bond with old friends, remember fallen riders and meet new folks. It is a casual affair...no vendors...no stress...no worries.

AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, Lexington, OH (1:00AM - 1:00AM)
AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days July 25-27, 2008 Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course Lexington, Ohio It's the biggest celebration of vintage motorcycles on the continent. And old bikes are just the beginning. From North America's largest motorcycle swap meet, to vintage racing, to new-bike demo rides, to auctions and bike shows, there's something at VMD for anyone who loves motorcycles. Just ask any of the tens of thousands of people who make VMD a part of their summer every year. The 2008 version of VMD takes place July 25-27 on the park-like grounds of the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. This year, VMD honors one of the most popular and enduring brands in motorcycling by naming Triumph as Marque of the Year. There will be special displays of the British bikes and other activities. Plus, all the traditional elements of VMD will be back as the event grows bigger every year. Expect three bike shows, the annual Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum Auction, North America's largest motorcycle swap meet, demo rides of new bikes, stunt shows, and a full slate of American Historic Motorcycle Racing Association action, including road racing, motocross, flat-track and trials.
