This morning 24 or our riders rose at dawn to ride together to the Weld County Courthouse in Greeley.
We gathered to support Liz' sister Susan and the memory of our dear friend.
The judge was impressed as was the Deputy District Attorney assigned to prosecute the case.
Although the court appearance was brief and all that was discussed with the defendant was the question regarding whether she has retained an attorney to represent her in this serious matter, our presence had an impact.
As you can imagine the court system is inundated with caseload. In cases in which the victim is well represented by friends and loved ones justice is often more seriously sought.
That said we have no intent to effect the outcome, simply to support the process, Liz' family and one another.
The next date at the courthouse is set for July 20th at 10:00 AM.
The defendent should have obtained an attorney and may plead at that time.
Your attendence is encouraged.

"Jeff, I feel I can't show my appreciation enough for the members of the BMW Club and the love and support you all have ... and continue to show for Liz. I felt her so closely with us today and I heard her saying .... "wow, you guys are awesome ... cause this is not just about me, it is about the safety of our entire family of bikers out there".

She loved you all so much and after meeting just a few of the members today, I can see why. Please pass on my (and my families) gratitude every opportunity you can."

Twenty four attended! Thats fantastic!

I hope that the authorities recognize that is a tremendous turnout, but that the other 380 members were also there in spirit. Nine on a monday morning in Greeley!

Some of us were out of town, riding, of course. In my case, we smoked a tire with cables exposed on Sunday, so beat it down for a replacement on Monday...accomplished by 10:30. (Thanks to Mike at Supertune, who is open on Mondays.) Many were working, vacationing, and all the other things of life. Thanks to you who made it for carrying the torch for the rest of us.
